I would consider this book a Nora Roberts sucess story. I can't wait to read the rest of the trilogy. Luckily, she's a fast writer and I'm years behind, so they are already published!
Nora Roberts takes stories that could be simple trash romances and makes them into somethign more. She has a knack for amking me really enjoy her characters and wish i could meet them in person. The main character in this sotry is no exception.
Nell escapes an abusive marriage by faking her death and running. She settles down on an island with a rich history of witchcraft and soon discovers the new friends she's made and herself share a part of this island heritage.
Roberts managers to bring in personalities and stories that you know will carry through well in the next books, without making this an unfinished novel which I appreciate. I was a bit distracted at first with the fake death and the focus on water as i kept thinking of the Julia Roberts movie with the same theme.
Another thing I appreciated in the book was the explanations of her past without graphic dwelling on it. I think the abuse and her reaction to it was very well and compassionately covered.
The cheapest place for Nora Roberts books is book Closeouts where I buy my hardcovers for $5-10. The selection is limited and varies. Browse and Buy Nora Roberts books.
