 Maria

Lyrics and Poems

Sometimes, at night, she cries.
When finally the house is still.
Her bruises have long since surfaced,
But now is when the pain begins.

How is it still that her love is
Unrivaled
While his temper rages
Unbridled.

Her innocent face.
Her eyes hold tears.
Her lips fight screams.
But her cheeks bear witness
To what her heart denies.

She swore he was
Deserving.
He swore she was
Deceiving.

Now the silence
Screams in his ears.
She looks down and
Forgives him.

Sometimes, at night, he cries.
